Chapters 5-10
What would life in the United States be like if restrictive laws were imposed? Could a law like the one imposed in Luke's country pass in the United States? Explain.
If restrictive laws were imposed. The United states wouldn't be much different.There would only be less population. A law like the one imposed in Luke's country could be imposed if the population was very high.-Alexis R.
Yes Alexis the United States would not be very different with less population. However what about the other restrictive laws? How would citizens react to other restrictive laws?
Alexis, I agree with your statement that not much would change, besides mainly, the decrease in population. However, what would happen if the government actually decided to issue this law? What could the citizens do to stop them? Could we?
If restrictive laws were imposed in the United States it would be horrible. The United States is meant for freedom, and if restrictive laws were imposed a rebellion might take place. However I do think a law in Luke's country would not pass in the United States because we are meant for freedom. Many acts for freedom has happened in the United States. Let's hope tho acts don't go to waist.
I agree with you Andrew, The United States is meant for freedom but what if that law was passes here? We do have freedom in the U.S. but not every ounce of it. Like we don't have the freedom to hear every single word the government says to Obama. Things like that, and many more, we don't have freedom with those.
If there was a restrictive law imposed in the U.S. it would be a huge mess or chaos. Our presidents wanted us to have complete freedom but we can't have freedom over everything. This includes the government's ideas of process and or laws.
If there was a restrictive law imposed in the United States,things wouldn't be the same.The U.S. was made for freedom,not some other country with restrictive laws as the next country.We may not have complete freedom but we still have our U.S. laws. Alec N.
Yes, I think that the government could issue this law if they so choose. They already have so much power, that to them, this wouldn't really make that much of a difference, just giving them more control. It would give them more control because they can tell us, make us, and enforce us, that we can not have more then two kids, placing is in the palm of their hands. So i think the government could issue this law. I also really don't think it would make that much of a difference, besides a massive decrease in the population.
I disagree with you because a lot of people have more than two children and that law hasn't been imposed and most likely people probably weren't going to expect that this was ever going to happen and this would be hard for them because they were never expecting it and everyone can't have shadow children because then there would be no reason for imposing the law
I totally agree with you, Jarita, if we ever get overpopulated, the government could easily enforce that law. If this country gets overcrowded, what else could the government do? Controlling the population is better than killing the population. If there are too many people here, there not really another choice or solution except to limit the amount of kids a couple has.
I think it would be a god solution then because your right jessica what else would they be able to do? But I don't think they should use it for any benifits. Cause what benifits would they really have doing this?
If restricted laws were enforced in the United States it probably wouldn't be called the "United" States it would be more like the "States." So to the point, it would be very bad the U.S. would not be free and our population is already lower than China's so if our population went down we might be looking at a continent wide panic.

Those laws would actually be very distructive here because people mostly have more than one child. You will see a lot of people with more than one child. I agree with Angelina we din't have that many people so it would be the worst for the economy. Their wouldn't be ebough people to educate to get good jobs and the population would go way down. - Kaitlynn R.
