What clues suggest that Luke and his family live under an oppressive government? Be specific.
The clues that suggest that Luke and his family live under an oppressive government because they took the hogs away from Luke's family and they also made the bill three times as much as it usually is for the family because the land was worth more.
He lives in an oppressive government since they make all the changes without notice and without asking. Since they just made the dad give away the hogs raise they bill high enough that the mother has to get a job at a factory. Also to even get the money the family will have to either sell their land or work more than usual.
I agree with you. Usually, in the USA, they would hold a voting about it. And they would make sure it was a good idea. That is why I know that Luke's family is under a oppressive government.
The story's clues suggest that Luke's life and family live under an oppressive government because they raised the bill amount by three. they also made "Dad," give away the hogs.
The clues that Luke is living under an oppressive government is that the bill with everything is going up x3 and they had to give away the hogs which were the income to everything the family owned.
The clues that Luke is living under a oppressive government is that the bill is going up by three times, the government can take away the source of your income, (the pigs), and they can control how many children you have. For example, you are not allowed to have more than three children.
There are some clues that Luke, and his family live in a oppressive government. For example they are being forced to give up the hogs. They also are not aloud to have more than two children. Plus their taxes are going higher for no reason. It looks like Luke, and his family live in a oppressive government.
The clues that point to that the government is to oppressive are that they are getting their hogs taken away and that's their money and food. Then they get a huge bill that is three times larger than their regular bill is without being informed. They also have control on pretty much everything, even how many children they have. So, it sounds like a oppressive government to me.
